PAIZAY-LE-TORT
A river called La Berlande crosses the village. The area is therefore perfect for some nice walks and cycling. You can also go fishing.
There is also a tennis court available in the village.
MELLE, 5 km away
You can visit its three well-known Romanesque churches, as well as its silver mines. Melle is also the closest town for your shopping with its three supermarkets and its open-air market on Friday mornings.
LEZAY, 12 km away
It has a very nice open-air market with food produce and clothes on Tuesday mornings. The town is also well known in the agricultural and farming world for its calf market.
NIORT, 35 km away - 30 min -
Niort has a covered market from Tuesdays to Sundays, although the market is much bigger on Tuesday and Saturday mornings. The town also has some nice shopping streets.
The tourist office in Niort organizes guided tours of the town centre.
LE MARAIS POITEVIN, 50 km away - 45 min -
Le Marais Poitevin – also called La Venise Verte, “The Green Venice” – is an area of France well-known for its marshland countryside. It forms a natural maze of navigable waterways where you can go canoeing, rent small boats – or get a guide to do the rowing – and enjoy the peaceful natural surroundings.
POITIERS and its FUTUROSCOPE, 60 km away - 1 h -
The Futuroscope is a theme park based around visual effects and cinematic techniques. It is the largest of its kind in Europe. You can see many different short films with a visual theme: giant screens, circular screens, films based on 3D technologies, cinemas with moving seats etc.

LA ROCHELLE, 100 km away - 1 h 15 min -
La Rochelle has some very nice pedestrian streets, a historical and touristy harbour, a beach and an aquarium.
And there are many other sites to visit: the Tumulus de Bougon (with its megalithic burial places from the Neolithic period), the Zoodyssée de Chizé (where you can see many native French animals), the Parc Ornithologique du Marais Poitevin (where you can go for a nice walk and watch some birds) etc.
